Joya postglaciar de Sierra Nevada, Chyonomis nivalis es una de sus especies sobresalientes, que aunque es relativamente frecuente es de muy difícil observación. En la imagen, en plena ingesta vegetal a finales de la tarde, en uno de los borreguiles del valle de San Juan, a 2.740 m de altitud (septiembre 2020).A postglacial gem of the Sierra Nevada, Chyonomis nivalis is one of its outstanding species, which, although relatively common, is very difficult to observe. In the image, it is consuming its vegetation in the late afternoon, in one of the borreguiles (evergreen meadow) in the San Juan Valley, at an altitude of 2,740 m (September 2020).
